The Two Towers Prize is awarded annually to students who best exemplify "Theory and Practice"-the guiding principles of a WPI education-through their academic competence, outstanding campus leadership, and through their work on research and projects.

The Kranich Prize is awarded annually, and it recognizes a science, engineering, or management major who best integrates the humanities and arts into his or her undergraduate experience-including course work, independent projects, and extracurricular activities. Wilmer Kranich was a professor of chemical engineering who was active in the development of the WPI Plan, and who served as dean of graduate studies for the university.

Honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2014 fall semester, achieved second year academic status at her institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.

Fifteen WPI student-athletes won and/or finished second at the NEWMAC Track and Field Championships.
