The criteria for the WPI Dean's List differs from most other universities as WPI does not compute a grade point average (GPA). Instead, WPI defines the Dean's List by the amount of work completed at the A-level in courses and projects.

The WPI athletic department recently honored all of its 20 varsity teams which encompasses nearly 600 student-athletes at its annual awards banquet. During the festivities, 11 student-athletes were presented with major awards. These accolades highlight some of the best varsity student-athletes at WPI who excel both in the classroom and in their respective sports.

The repeat first teamer is the only three-time selection on this year's 16-man first team and amongst the 46 on the entire scroll. The category includes fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming & diving, tennis, volleyball, water polo and wrestling. Overall, it is the 75th CoSIDA Academic All-America selection in WPI history, 55th since 2006-07 and 20th since 2015-16.

The WPI varsity eight and second varsity eight each claimed silver medals as the Engineers rowed to a second place finish at the NCAA Division III Women's Rowing Championship hosted this weekend (May 31-June 1) by Indiana and the Indiana Sports Corporation at the Indianapolis Rowing Center at Eagle Creek Park.

Carley Dykstra and Antoine Harris represented WPI on the first day of the 2019 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Mount Union and the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission, at the SPIRE Institute. Ryan Wittenberg competed on day two and day three.

The Elite 90, an award founded by the NCAA, recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the national championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers. The Elite 90 is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the finals site for each of the NCAA's championships.

Recent graduate Ryan Tropeano has been named as the baseball program's first-ever Google Cloud Academic All-America, as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America. He makes WPI's debut with a third team nod.

WPI recent graduate Caraline Wood was honored as the softball program's latest Google Cloud Academic All-America, as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). It is the ninth accolade for the program, and the seventh in five years, while the second teamer is the seventh different student-athlete to be lauded.

WPI junior David Larson was named as a second team All-America by D3baseball.com. He is the third WPI honoree since the awards program began in 2007 and the first honoree since Alex Venditti in 2016. WPI Hall of Fame pitcher Conor Fahey collected accolades in 2009.

Now in its third year, the NEWMAC All-Sportsmanship team is intended to recognize one student-athlete from each team, in every sport that best demonstrates the ideals of the NEWMAC and its Code of Conduct, regardless of his/her overall performance or statistics for the season.

Five WPI track & field individuals and a relay were recognized as All-Region performers by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The scroll features the top five individuals and top three relays from each event.

Recent WPI graduates Carley Dykstra, Ryan Wittenberg and Antoine Harris will don the Crimson and Gray one more time as they have been invited to the 2019 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships being held May 23-25. This year's event, hosted by Mount Union and the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission, is being held at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, OH. All three previously earned All-America honors in their respective events during the indoor season.

Several WPI outdoor track & field student-athletes finished in the top eight at the NCAA Division III New England Championships and/or NEICAAA (All-New England, All-Divisions) Championships

Honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2018 fall semester, achieved second year academic status at her institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.

Senior Caraline Wood has been named as a National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-New England first team selection. Sophomore Marissa Gonzales and junior Mackenzie Phillips were recognized as second and third team honorees, respectively.

WPI's Caraline Wood has been named a semifinalist for the 2019 Schutt Sports/NFCA Division III Softball Player of Year award. The senior is just one of 25 players nationwide, and the only third baseman and representative of the New England, to make the most recent list.

Senior Caraline Wood, freshman Lindsay Ambrosino and head softball coach Whitney Goldstein earned major awards, as voted upon by the NEWMAC head coaches following the conclusion of the regular season. Junior Mackenzie Phillips and sophomore Marissa Gonzales were also recognized.

WPI juniors David Larson and Tyrone Patterson were named to the NEWMAC Baseball All-Conference first and second team respectively, following a vote by the conference head coaches following the regular season.

After falling to Eastern Connecticut State in the double-elimination opener, WPI staved off elimination by defeating St. Joseph (CT) before being ousted by nationally-ranked Tufts.
