The sophomore boasted a .545 hitting percentage with 13 kills in the Worcester City Tournament opener versus Worcester State and added eight more versus Husson en route to All-Tournament honors. In all, Kwatinetz hit an eye-popping .488 with 24 kills in the first three matches of the season.

Led by Jack Bauer and Jenny Day, five members of the WPI swimming & diving program secured College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) All-America Team honors for their work in the pool and in the classroom. Additionally, both programs earned the CSCAA Scholar All-America Award for their respective combined GPAs.

Junior Sarah St. Pierre and sophomore Ally Sichler earned the team's NERC All-Scholar award while St. Pierre also headlined a dozen WPI women's rowing student-athletes that repeated as an NIRC All-Academic Team honoree, as announced by USRowing. In all, 16 members of the team were recognized following the May regattas. Of the 16, nine were also lauded by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA).

Sophomore Brandon Fox claimed the WPI men's rowing NERC All-Scholar award and junior Nathan Pietrowicz was named to the NIRC All-Stewards Team following the May regattas. Additionally, 15 members of the team, including Fox and four three-time honorees, earned NIRC All-Academic Team accolades.

WPI junior Jack Bauer was named to the Google Cloud Academic All-America Division III At-Large First Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). He is the first WPI male student-athlete to earn a spot on a first team since Men's Basketball's Matt Carr in 2012.

WPI senior Ama Biney has been named to the Google Cloud Academic All-America Division III softball third team, as selected by CoSIDA, for the second time in as many years.

The WPI athletic department recently honored all of its 20 varsity teams which encompasses over 600 student-athletes at its annual awards banquet. During the festivities, 11 student-athletes were presented with major awards. These accolades highlight some of the best varsity student-athletes at WPI who excel both in the classroom and in their respective sports.

WPI punctuated it's best season in school history by finishing third in the varsity eight race and as a team at the NCAA Division III Women's Rowing Championships at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, FL. The team finish is the highest of any NCAA team sport in school history.

Earns third All-America honor

The keynote address was given by Margot Lee Shetterly, author of Hidden Figures: The American Dream, and the Untold Story of the Black Women Mathematicians Who Helped Win the Space Race.

This year's graduate address was given by Marcia McNutt, president of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) and the first woman to serve in this role.

The criteria for the WPI Dean's List differs from most other universities as WPI does not compute a grade point average (GPA). Instead, WPI defines the Dean's List by the amount of work completed at the A level in courses and projects.

The WPI women's rowing team has been selected to participate in the NCAA Division III Championships for the first time in program history. This year's championships will be held May 25-27 at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, FL, and will be hosted by the University of Central Florida.

Two individuals and a relay will head to La Crosse, Wisconsin for the 2018 NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships May 24-26.

Three individuals and two relays garnered U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region accolades for finishing the outdoor track & field season in the top five of their respective events.

Kinsey McNamara, Christine Hovermale and Marlies de Jong were named to the first team and coxswain Madison Healy was a second team selection.

All-New England student-athletes finished in the top eight as an individual or as part of a relay at the NCAA Division III New England Championships and/or NEICAAA Championships.

WPI seniors Ama Biney and Nina Murphy-Cook were named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-New England first team while three others were also recognized by the region's head coaches. Biney completed the four-year sweep and Murphy-Cook, who missed half of last season, was lauded for the third time in four years. Junior Caraline Wood and freshman Marissa Gonzales picked up second team honors and junior Renee LeClaire represented the Engineers on the third team. The five selections ties the program record set in 2016.
