WPI senior Liz Pellegrini and sophomore Warren Staver have been named All-Region by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Nugent made her collegiate track and field debut a memorable one by claiming a victory in the 400-meter dash (1:00.33) and teaming with Lea Strangio, Julie Tevenan, and Maggie LaRoche to win the 4x400-meter relay (4:08.45) as the Engineers captured the team championship at the Coast Guard Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

Caliri logged multiple hits in all three of his appearances last week en route to hitting .500 (7-of-14). The senior catcher's three-run home run in the bottom of the seventh proved to be the difference as WPI outlasted Nichols 20-15 on Tuesday.

Gurska batted an eye-popping .615 (8-for-13) with five runs scored as the Engineers won three of four last week. The junior catcher had a hit in all four contests and also was on the receiving end of Kelsey Saucier's no-hitter against Fitchburg State on Wednesday.

Biney was simply amazing for WPI during the Engineers spring break trip to Central Florida. After playing in the NCAA basketball tournament the Friday of departure, the sophomore batted a jaw-dropping .645 as the Crimson and Gray posted a 8-2 record.

D'Agostino had a pair of outstanding starts for the Engineers during WPI's spring break trip to Central Florida.

The quartet of sophomore Sara Velleca, senior Alex Price, senior Liz Pellegrini and sophomore Taylor Teed set the school record in the 4x200-meter relay with a third-place time of 1:43.62. Later in the meet, junior Kimberlee Kocienski, sophomore Emily Newman, sophomore Maggie LaRoche and senior Julie Tevenan teamed up to take down the 4x800-meter relay record in 9:29.13 to also finish third.

Staver concluded his sensational sophomore indoor season by earning the bronze medal in the 400-meter dash at the ECAC Championships in Staten Island in a time of 49.45.

Senior Clyde Niba (Atlanta, GA) and junior Sean Doncaster (Medford, MA) have been named to the NEWMAC Men's Basketball All-Conference First Team, as selected by the league's head coaches following the 25-game season.

Biney is a big reason the Engineers won a record 18 games in a row and this past weekend's NEWMAC tournament. The local product led the team with 11.5 points and 5.4 rebounds per game, and ranked third in the conference in steals with 55.

Dunphy was selected the NEWMAC Tournament's Most Outstanding Player as WPI earned its first conference tournament title since 1996 by winning three contests last week.

After dropping his opening match at the NCAA Regionals to the top seed, Shrewsbury worked his all the way back to just one match short of a trip to the Nationals in Iowa.

WPI has been selected as an at-large team and will face Cortland at 7:30pm in the first round of the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament at Amherst College for Friday. The hosts play Husson in the other match-up of Friday's doubleheader with the two winners set to meet in the second round on Saturday evening at 7pm.

The WPI women's basketball team will travel to Scranton, PA for the first round of the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championship. The Engineers will face the host Lady Royals in a double header on Friday. The other game features Marymount (VA) and Cabrini with the advancing teams meeting on Saturday.
