WPI student stood out as a leader. As Vice Chair of ATO and a captain of the soccer team, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting and connecting members of the WPI community. He played a key role in organizing Week of Hope, a campus-wide mental health and suicide awareness initiative hosted by ATO and FIJI that focused on building community, promoting available resources, and encouraging students to support one another. Through events, fundraising efforts, and outreach activities, he helped create a positive and welcoming environment for students across campus. In addition, Eli has taken the initiative to organize Sunday meals for the seniors on the soccer team, providing an opportunity for teammates to connect and strengthen their relationships outside of practice and competition. His ability to bring people together, support his peers, and lead by example has made a meaningful impact on both the soccer program and the broader WPI community.

Named in honor of the first president of WPI, this honor recognizes outstanding performance by first-year students.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) undergraduate students Ronak Wani and Hemankit Vallurupalli represented the university at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) 2026 in Richmond, Virginia, where they presented their Major Qualifying Project (MQP) to a national audience of student researchers, faculty mentors, and academic leaders. NCUR is one of the largest and most prestigious interdisciplinary undergraduate research conferences in the United States, bringing together exceptional student researchers from colleges and universities across the country to present peer-reviewed scholarly work. Selection to present at NCUR recognizes the quality, originality, and broader impact of undergraduate research. By presenting at NCUR 2026, the students showcased not only the technical innovation of their research but also WPI's longstanding commitment to experiential learning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and solving meaningful societal problems through research and innovation. Their participation, funded by the Dean of Undergraduate Studies, highlights how WPI students engage in impactful research that extends beyond the classroom and contributes to advancing education and sustainable development on a global scale.

The criteria for the WPI Dean's List differs from most other universities as WPI does not compute a grade point average (GPA). Instead, WPI defines the Dean's List by the amount of work completed at the A level in courses and projects.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) celebrated the accomplishments of the Class of 2026 during its 157th Commencement exercises, honoring graduates whose innovation, perseverance, and purpose-driven achievements will help shape the future. Ceremonies were held on May 14 and 15 at the DCU Center, where WPI awarded nearly 1,200 bachelor's degrees, over 600 master's degrees, and more than 60 doctoral degrees to graduates across a broad spectrum of disciplines in science, engineering, technology, business, and the humanities. Together, these graduates join a global network of WPI changemakers prepared to lead with knowledge, creativity, and impact.

The Two Towers Prize is awarded to students who best exemplify a combined proficiency in the theoretical and practical aspects of course work and other activities at WPI.

The Class of 1879 Prize is awarded by the Humanities and Arts Department yearly for excellent work in the culminating project for the Humanities & Arts Requirement.

Utilizing research, science, and humanity, IQP finalists demonstrate global impact of projects.

WPI students were inducted into the national engineering honor society.

Brinkmann Constructors presented an Intern of Excellence award, intended to recognize interns who have exemplified and embraced Brinkmann's core values and have gone above and beyond on their jobsites.

This year's Great Problems Seminar (GPS) culminated with the annual Poster Presentation Day on December 11th. This event celebrates students' innovative research on a wide range of solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges. This academic year's GPS classes focused on the challenges of Climate Change, Heal the World, Our Unequal World, Recover, Reuse, Recycle, Seeking Sustainability, and Shelter the World.

Camille Williams' paper "Characterization of Microwave Plasma in Electromagnetic Modeling for Processing Applications" won the Student Competition for Best Poster Presentation at the 57th Annual IMPI's Microwave Power Symposium in Denver (June 27-29, 2023).

Worcester Polytechnic Institute student, Tessa Lytle, is on the synchronized skating team, The Haydenettes, who recently placed 5th in the World Championships.

Megan Desanty will be a Newman Civic Fellow for 2022-2023. The Newman Civic Fellowship recognizes and supports community-committed students who are changemakers and public problem-solvers at Campus Compact member institutions.
