Junior Ama Biney has been tabbed as the first D3hoops.com Women's Basketball All-Northeast Team selection in program history. The local product was named to the second team.

Day, Nigro and Marsh Key Wrestling's Second Straight NWCA Academic Top 30 Distinction

Sophomore Nick Day, junior Jack Nigro and freshman Tyler Marsh have been named Division III Scholar All-Americans by the National Wrestling Coaches Association. Collectively, the Engineers starting lineup, along with four key reserves, boasted a 3.22 GPA to earn top 30 program status for the second consecutive season. The Crimson and Gray were 19th overall out of over 100 Division III wrestling programs.

Men's Swimming & Diving's 200-yard Medley Relay Named WPI Men's Student-Athlete of the Week

The quartet of sophomore Jack Bauer, senior Tim Petri, junior Karim Elsayed and senior Andrew Bauer clocked a 1:29.74 in the 200-yard medley relay championship final to become the highest finishing relay in program history.

Hope Shevchuk of Burlington, Conn., Tabbed as WPI Women's Student-Athlete of the Week

This past week it was announced that Shevchuk earned her fourth NFHCA Scholar of Distinction for carrying at least a 3.9 GPA during the field hockey season.

Doug Rives of Bethany, Conn., Honored as WPI Men's Student-Athlete of the Week

Rives won both of his starts on the week. He yielded three hits and two walks and fanned five in six against Muskingum. The sophomore held Ohio Northern to four hits and one walk while striking out three in a five-inning outing in the finale versus Ohio Northern.

Nina Murphy-Cook of Roseville, Calif., Selected as WPI Women's Student-Athlete of the Week

Murphy-Cook led the Engineers with a .435 batting average with seven stolen bases, four walks and three RBI. The junior enjoyed a quartet of 2-for-3 performances in the eight-game stretch. She has also stolen at least one base in the last five games and totals 11 on the young season.

Sydney Packard of Georgetown, Mass., Competes at NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships

Packard, the first rookie to make the indoor championships in the decade-plus that head coach Brian Chabot has been associated with the program, was in contention for a spot in the finals through two laps with splits of 32.362 (sixth) and 32.999 (fourth) for a fifth-place time of 1:05.361. The second half of the race was not as fruitful resulting in a total time of 2:18.54, which was 4.49 off her best converted time of the season.

Natalie Fabrizio of Hampstead, N.H., Named WPI Women's Student-Athlete of the Week

Fabrizio batted .667 on the week, including a 3-for-4 performance in the season opener versus Thiel. She drew a walk against Simmons and scored a run in each game. It marks the third consecutive year the nationally-ranked Engineers have gone 2-0 to begin the season.

Anthony Capuano of Stoneham, Mass., Tabbed WPI Men's Student-Athlete of the Week

Capuano posted a slash line of .667/.714/1.500 with four RBI in the season-opening DH versus St. Joseph's (ME). He followed up a 1-for-2 (double) game with a 3-for-4 outing featuring three runs, two more doubles and a triple.

Sydney Packard of Georgetown, Mass., Honored as WPI Women's Student-Athlete of the Week (Feb. 26)

Packard helped the distance medley relay achieve a new record time at the All-New England Championships and set the 800-meter run record at the BU Last Chance Meet. The team of Maggie LaRoche, Packard, Lea Strangio and Emily Newman combined for a 10th-place 12:23.81 Friday night while Packard handed in a 2:12.52 in the 800 Sunday. As a result, Packard jumped up 24 spots to No. 10 on the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships performance list.

Men's Track and Field's 4x400-Meter Relay Selected as WPI Men's Student-Athlete of the Week (Feb. 26)

Freshman Alex Rus, junior Paul-Henry Schoenhagen, sophomore Ryan Wittenberg and junior Warren Staver collaborated for a second-place, and new record, time of 3:17.47 on Saturday to earn All-New England honors at the NEICAAA Championships at the Reggie Lewis Center. Their converted time of 3:20.63 is 13th overall, but more importantly 11th when the second teams from Wisconsin-Eau Claire and Wisconsin-La Crosse are removed.

Gurska, Biney and Murphy-Cook Named to NFCA Division III Player of the Year Watch List

Louisville, KY --- Senior Lindsay Gurska along with juniors Ama Biney and Nina Murphy-Cook are among the Schutt Sports/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III Player of Year Top 50. Now in its second year, the watch list will be pared down as the season progresses until one player remains. Biney and Murphy-Cook have the distinction of being chosen for a second time.

Packard Packs Bags For NCAA DIII Track & Field Championships; USTFCCCA Doles Out Honors

Freshman Sydney Packard has been selected to compete at the 2017 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships this weekend at North Central in Illinois. Additionally, a total of four individuals and a relay were named All-Region by the USTFCCCA for handing in a top five performance over the course of the season.

Swimming & Diving Leads The Way as 28 From WPI Named Winter Academic All-NEWMAC

Led by men's swimming and diving seniors Ricky Coffin and Tim Petri, and women's swimming and diving seniors Emily Martin and Abbey Nack, 28 WPI winter student-athletes were designated Academic All-NEWMAC for their work in the classroom. The swimming & diving foursome each collected their third certificate while 14 others were repeat honorees and 10 were cited in their first year of eligibility.

WPI Men's Cross Country Team Cited by USTFCCCA; Scott Earns Fourth Solo Nod

Paced by four-time honoree senior Austin Scott a total of five WPI student-athletes were tabbed U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic in the sport of cross country. The men's and women's programs were also recognized as USTFCCCA All-Academic teams for the seventh-consecutive year.

Ian Converse of Woodstock, Conn., Named NEWMAC Men's Co-Offensive Player of the Week

Converse narrowly missed averaging a double-double in the Engineers 2-0 week as he posted 23.5 points and 9.5 rebounds to go with four assists, three blocks and three steals. He began with 24 points and eight rebounds at Wheaton before scoring 23 and grabbing 11 rebounds in the season finale versus Clark. He shot 50 percent from the field in both games.

Lambert went off for a career-best 17 points, including five threes, in a triumph Saturday (Feb. 11) over Wellesley.
