Worcester Resident Ana Dede Named to WPI Spring 2010 Dean's List

2010 Jun 4

Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) has announced that Ana Dede of Worcester, MA, a freshman majoring in Biomedical Engineering was named to the university's Dean's List for academic excellence for the spring 2010 semester.

A total of 874 undergraduate students (about a quarter of the undergraduate population) achieved the criteria required for WPI's spring 2010 Dean's List. The criteria for the WPI Dean's List differ from most other universities as WPI does not compute a grade point average (GPA). Instead, WPI defines the Dean's List by the amount of work completed at the A level in courses and projects.

"WPI is home to some of this nation's brightest students," said Provost and Senior Vice President John Orr. "Whether studying science, engineering, math, business, or the humanities, they are committed to obtaining a deep understanding of fundamental concepts and also to putting those concepts into action, while developing broadly as adults in today's complex society. We are exceptionally proud of these young men and women, and we applaud their commitment to excellence."
