Vincent D'Ambrosio of Mahopac, N.Y., Named NEWMAC Co-Player of the Week (Mar. 14)

WPI senior Vincent D'Ambrosio took home top billing as the NEWMAC debuted its 2013 weekly baseball awards on Monday. D'Ambrosio was recognized as the league's Co-Player of the Week along with Zach Serna of Coast Guard.

D'Ambrosio was outstanding for WPI during the Engineers spring break trip to Central Florida. The senior batted .423 in eight games last week and reached base in over half of his plate appearances (.516%). The second baseman registered runs in seven of the eight contests, 11 in all, and posted multiple hits in four games. D'Ambrosio, who also tallied four doubles and four walks, played strong defense as well, committing just one error in 35 chances.
