Veroniki Nikolaki of Markopoulo, Greece, Earns CSCAA Academic Accolades

Veroniki Nikolaki was one of eight WPI swimming and diving student-athletes to earn College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-Academic status for efforts in the pool and the classroom.

Both teams received CSCAA Scholar All-America Team status for the third consecutive season as the women collaborated for a 3.29 GPA and the men teamed up for a three-year best 3.21, up from 3.18 in 2014 and 3.17 in 2013.

Andrew Bauer, Nathan Hughes and David Smallwood earned CSCAA Scholar All-America status while Ben List, Tim Petri and Karim Elsayed took home honorable mention accolades. Hughes, List and Smallwood all earned honorable mention status a year ago.

Veronica Nikolaki, a two-time first teamer, and Nysa Casha represented the women on the honorable mention squad.

To be selected as a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team, programs must have achieved a grade point average of 3.00 or higher over the Spring semester.

To be selected to the CSCAA Scholar All-America Team, swimmers and divers must have achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and have participated in their respective NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. Honorable Mention selections have similarly achieved a GPA of 3.50 and achieved a "B" time standard or, for diving, competed at their respective qualifying meets.
