Tyler Marsh of Upper Black Eddy, Pa., Tabbed New England Wrestling Association Rookie of the Week

WPI freshman Tyler Marsh has been tabbed as the New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) Rookie of the Week for the week ending Sunday, November 20th. The 157-pounder is one of six Engineer grapplers to be regionally-ranked this week, breaking into the rankings at No. 5.

Marsh won both of his matches on Saturday (Nov. 19) as WPI swept a home Super Quad to start the dual meet season 3-0. The freshman notched a first period pin of the nation's third-ranked wrestler at 157 pounds to put the Engineers up 14-6 in an eventual 21-15 victory versus nationally-ranked Ursinus (PA). Earlier in the day Marsh posted a 15-4 major decision over his opponent from Norwich in a 30-12 triumph over Norwich.

The Engineers are 3-0 on the season after sweeping King's (PA), Ursinus and Norwich this past Saturday (Nov. 19). WPI is back on the mat on Saturday, December 3rd at the RIT Invitational.
