Tyler Marsh of Upper Black Eddy, Pa. Qualifies for NCAA Division III Wrestling Championship

WPI sophomore Tyler Marsh finished second, and six other WPI wrestlers reached the podium as the Engineers turned in an impressive second place team showing at home Sunday in the final day of action in the 2018 NCAA Division III Northeast Regional.

Marsh, and the top three in each weight class advance to the 2018 NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships hosted by Baldwin-Wallace on Friday, March 9th and Saturday, March 10th in Cleveland, Ohio, while the top six earned all-region recognition.

The sophomore punched his ticket to Cleveland by grinding out a 4-2 victory over Christopher Sullivan of Coast Guard in the semifinals. The sophomore 133-pounder then dropped a tight 3-2 decision to NYU's Raymond Jazikoff in the finals.

On Saturday, Marsh, ranked third at 157, started the day with a pin, taking down Zac Thompson from Southern Maine early in the third and following that up with a 5-1 decision over Brady Robin of Johnson & Wales in the quarterfinals.
