Sydney Packard of Georgetown, Mass., Named WPI Female Student-Athlete of the Week

2018 Mar 12

Sydney Packard from the track & field team has been named as the WPI Female Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sunday, March 11th.

Packard handed in the 10th-fastest time in Division III history en route to being named an All-America in the 800-meter run Saturday at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships. The sophomore's time of 2:09.10 secured third place in the final and was over a second quicker than her previous school record time of 2:10.38. It is Packard's second All-America nod and the 11th for head coach Brian Chabot. Like last year's outdoor championship, Packard was the top finisher from New England.
