Sydney Packard of Georgetown, Mass., Honored as WPI Women's Student-Athlete of the Week (Feb. 26)

Sydney Packard from the track & field team has been honored as the WPI Female Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sunday, February 26th.

Packard helped the distance medley relay achieve a new record time at the All-New England Championships and set the 800-meter run record at the BU Last Chance Meet. The team of Maggie LaRoche, Packard, Lea Strangio and Emily Newman combined for a 10th-place 12:23.81 Friday night while Packard handed in a 2:12.52 in the 800 Sunday. As a result, Packard jumped up 24 spots to No. 10 on the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships performance list.
