Sean Doncaster of Medford, Mass., Tabbed NEWMAC Men's Basketball Co-Player of the Week (Feb. 15)

2016 Feb 23

WPI's Sean Doncaster has been selected NEWMAC Men's Basketball Co-Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, February 14th. The junior guard, who earlier in the day on Monday was named WPI Male Student-Athlete of the Week, shares the conference award with Joey Flannery (Acton, Mass.) of Babson.

Doncaster continued his recent strong play by averaging 17.5 points and 7.5 rebounds during a 2-0 week for the Engineers. The junior guard posted his second straight double-double with a 17 point, 10 rebound performance in WPI's 58-50 road win at MIT in a match-up of regionally-ranked teams receiving votes in the D3hoops.com Top 25. Doncaster then poured in a game-best 18 points to go along with five rebounds and three steals as the Crimson and Gray returned home and defeated Coast Guard 69-60.

The honor marks the third time a WPI player has been recognized with a NEWMAC weekly award. Senior Clyde Niba (Atlanta, Ga.) took home top billing on November 23rd and January 4th.
