Madison Beck of Manlius, N.Y., Member of NCAA-Bound Women's Basketball Team

Madison Beck is a member of the WPI women's basketball team that has been selected to participate in the 2016 NCAA Division III Championship tournament which begins later this week.

The Engineers will face host Scranton (Pa.) on Friday at a time yet to be determined. Friday will also see Marymount (Va.) and Cabrini square off in the other game of the doubleheader. Both winners will face each other on Saturday.

Games times and ticket prices will be announced later Monday or early Tuesday.

It is WPI's first appearance since winning the NEW 8 title in 1996 and third overall (1984). The Crimson and Gray went 24-4 on the season, tying the program mark for wins in a single season, under the guidance of 16th-year head coach Cherise Galasso. They also finished second in the NEWMAC standings before winning three games in the conference tournament, including a nail-biter Sunday at Babson, to earn the AQ to the national tournament.
