Lindsay Gurska of Revere, Mass., Selected as WPI Women's Student-Athlete of the Week (Mar. 28)

Lindsay Gurska from the softball team has been selected as the WPI Female Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sunday, March 27th. \

Gurska batted an eye-popping .615 (8-for-13) with five runs scored as the Engineers won three of four last week. The junior catcher had a hit in all four contests and also was on the receiving end of Kelsey Saucier's no-hitter against Fitchburg State on Wednesday. In Saturday's conference-opening doubleheader versus Wheaton, Gurska broke a scoreless game with a homer in the bottom of the fourth in WPI's 5-1 victory in game one before batting a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs scored in the nightcap.
