Lea Strangio of Watertown, Mass., Honored as WPI Women's Student-Athlete of the Week

Lea Strangio of the Track and Field team has been honored as the WPI Female Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sunday, February 14th.

Strangio re-established her own school record in the 800-meter run and was part of the school-record 4x400-meter relay at Boston University's David Hemery Valentine Track and Field Invitational. The senior crossed the finish line in a time of 2:16.28 to set the record in the event for the second consecutive week. Strangio later teamed with senior Alex Price, Sara Velleca and Liz Pellegrini to set the program standard with a heat-winning, and 13th-place time of 3:54.61.
