2014 Dec 8

Laura Pumphrey of the track and field team has been tabbed as the WPI Women's Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sunday, December 7th.

Pumphrey won a pair of events and claimed the indoor program record in the high jump as the WPI women's track and field team captured the Springfield College Invitational on Saturday. The senior cleared 5-7.75 to claim the high jump record outright. She previously shared the record height of 5-7 with Julie Eagle (Gr '14). Pumphrey also clocked a 9.3 for the winning time in the 60-meter hurdles. Both marks earn entry into all three regional meets (DIII NE, All-NE and ECAC DIII).
