Kristin Olson of San Diego, Calif., Lauded by CRCA For Academics

Women's Rowing's Kristin Olson earned recognition for her work on the water and in the classroom by the CRCA.

The WPI women's rowing trio of junior Audrey Allen, junior Jennifer Golden and senior Kristin Olson were named Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) National Scholar-Athletes for the second consecutive year.

To be eligible a student-athlete must have a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher for her career (through the fall semester/quarter for the current competition year), be in her second, third or fourth year of eligibility, rowed in her institution's NCAA or IRA eligible boat(s) for a minimum of 75% of the current spring races or racing in a regional conference event and her Head Coach was a member in good standing of the CRCA as of May 1, 2016.

In addition to finishing the season tied for 13th in the CRCA/US Rowing Coaches Poll, the Engineers were the runner up to eventual NCAA Division III national champion Wellesley in both the Varsity Eight and Second Varsity Eight, as well as the Florence Jope Smith Cup, at the NEWMAC Championships.
