2014 Oct 6

WPI's Julie Tevenan was named the NEWMAC Women's Cross Country Co-Runner of the Week following a top 10 finish at the Paul Short Run on Saturday. The junior, who was tabbed the WPI Women's Student-Athlete of the Week earlier in the day, shares the weekly honor with Mount Holyoke sophomore Becca Rogers (Tucson, Ariz.).

Tevenan clocked a time 22:50 over a 6K course to finish ninth in a field of over 300 runners in the Paul Short Run white race on Saturday afternoon at Division I Lehigh. The Engineers, who also received a tenth place showing from freshman Emily Newman (Easton, Mass.) (22:55), bested Division II regionally-ranked No. 9 Philadelphia who followed in sixth and No. 8 Southern New Hampshire who posted an 11th-place effort.

WPI travels to Franklin Park in Boston on Saturday for the All-New England Championships. The starters pistol is slated to go off at 11:45 a.m.
