Joseph Crognale of Dedham, MA, Earns Men's Rowing Postseason Accolade

Joseph Crognale has been recognized by the NERC or NIRC following the rowing season.

Senior Kelsey Regan earned National Invitational Rowing Championships (NIRC) All-Stewards Team honors and junior Zack Estrella repeated as Men's Rowing's New England Rowing Championship (NERC) All-Scholar Award recipient as the two groups recently handed out postseason accolades. Twenty Engineers, including the aforementioned duo, were named to the NIRC All-Academic Team.

Regan earned the equivalent of an all-conference honor as the coxswain of the Varsity Eight that won the New England Championship, the McCarthy/McGee Cup vs Boston College, the Baker Cup vs Tufts, the Class of 2003 Cup and was the runner up in the Donahue Cup and third at the NIRC. The group also knocked off last year's New England Champion Bates in a head-to-head matchup early in the season. In the fall, Regan guided the Engineers to the Jim Polcari title at the Textile River Regatta and fourth at the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta.

Estrella, a member of the Third Varsity Eight, once again boasts the highest GPA on the team of all the Engineers that have completed of at least one full-year on Boynton Hill.

Seniors Michael Beinor, Scott Cazier and Paul Danielson made the NIRC academic scroll for the third time. Classmates Jack Perry, Regan and Danny Singer were repeat honorees while Dan Seaman collected his first. The juniors were represented by back-to-back honorees Lorenzo Dube, Michael Eaton, Estrella and coxswain Kenedi Heather, as well as first timers Jack Harding and Matt Schueler.

Sophomores Griffin Bishop, David Bovich, Joe Crognale, coxswain Lily Olsen, Nathan Pietrowicz, Kellen Randall and Johnny Wang all earned the accolade in their first year of eligibility.

For a student-athlete to be recognized to the NIRC All-Academic Team they must have completed one full-year at their institution (freshmen and first-year transfers are not eligible), maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.35 and be recognized as a varsity letter winner.

Men's Rowing enjoyed a successful year culminating with the program's first New England title in 38 years and a bronze medal for NIRC Coach of the Year Larry Noble, who has been leading the Engineers since the program was elevated to varsity status 18 years ago.
