Jennifer Day of Chelmsford, Mass., Honored as WPI Women's Student-Athlete of the Week

Jennifer Day from the swimming and diving team has been honored as the WPI Female Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sunday, February 22nd.

Day reached the championship final of three individual events and was a member of an All-NEWMAC award winning relay as the Engineers finished fourth at the conference championship meet. The freshman helped make history Thursday evening as she helped the 800-yard freestyle relay garner WPI's first-ever all-conference swimming award by placing second in a time of 7:42.54. Day continued to impress as the rookie was fourth in the 400-yard IM (4:38.75 - school record), fifth in the 1,650-yard freestyle (17:45.79) and sixth in the 500-yard freestyle (5:08.92 - school record).
