Jennifer Day of Chelmsford, Mass., Honored as WPI Women's Student-Athlete of the Week

Jennifer Day from the swimming and diving team has been honored as the WPI Female Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sunday, February 21st.

Day made program history as the first WPI woman to win a NEWMAC Swimming Championship by claiming the 200 butterfly with a 2:08.44. Just a little over an hour earlier, the sophomore had set the school record in both the 1000 and 1650 freestyles while placing fourth in the mile (17:23.42). Day had a tremendous all-around meet, placing third in the 500 free in a time of 5:04.19 and playing a large role in multiple relay events for the Engineers.
