2015 Sep 28

Emily Newman from the cross country team has been selected as the WPI Female Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sunday, September 27th.

Newman became the fourth different WPI runner in the last eight years to capture the Worcester City meet when she finished the 5K course in a time of 19:46.5. The sophomore helped the Engineers regain the city title as the Crimson and Gray have now logged the individual winner seven times in the last eight years.

The Engineers head to Franklin Park in Boston for the All-New England Championships on October 10.
