Elizabeth Pellegrini of Worcester, Mass., Named WPI Women's Student-Athlete of the Week (Mar. 7)

Elizabeth Pellegrini was one of eight women's track and field student-athletes to garner WPI Women's Student-Athlete of the Week accolades as part of either the 4x200 or 4x800-meter relay for the week ending Sunday, March 6.

The quartet of sophomore Sara Velleca, senior Alex Price, senior Liz Pellegrini and sophomore Taylor Teed set the school record in the 4x200-meter relay with a third-place time of 1:43.62. Later in the meet, junior Kimberlee Kocienski, sophomore Emily Newman, sophomore Maggie LaRoche and senior Julie Tevenan teamed up to take down the 4x800-meter relay record in 9:29.13 to also finish third.
