Brian Murtagh of Wayland, Mass., Tackles WPI Men's Student-Athlete of the Week Honor

Brian Murtagh of the football team has been selected as the WPI Men's Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sunday, September 28th.

Murtagh established a new career-high for tackles with 16 stops in WPI's loss Saturday evening to Rensselaer in the annual Transit Trophy game. The sophomore tallied seven solo tackles and nine assisted tackles against rival RPI. On the season, the middle linebacker has amassed 43 total tackles to go along with a pair of sacks, an additional tackle for loss and an interception.
