Andrew Bauer of Cumberland, R.I., Tabbed WPI Men's Student-Athlete of the Week

Andrew Bauer of the swimming and diving team has been selected as the WPI Male Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sunday, February 22nd.

Bauer tallied top three finishes in all three of his individual events and was part of a repeat winner in a relay for the Engineers at the NEWMAC championships. The sophomore took home first place in the 200-yard freestyle in a school record time of 1:39.88 to go along with a second place showing in the 50-yard freestyle (20.83) and a third place time in the 100-yard freestyle (45.59 - school record). Bauer also swam the anchor leg as WPI captured the 800-yard freestyle for the second straight year with a school record time of 6:45.47 and was part of another record-setting relay in the 200-yard freestyle (1:22.83).
