Andrew Bauer of Cumberland, R.I., Named WPI Men's Student-Athlete of the Week

Andrew Bauer of the swimming & diving team has been named as the WPI Male Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sunday, November 13th.

Bauer earned five individual victories as the men's swimming & diving team knocked off Division II Southern Connecticut, the six-time defending NE-10 Champions, and Coast Guard in less than 24 hours. He began with wins in the 50- and 200-yard freestyles while helping the 200-yard freestyle relay to the quickest time of 1:30.32. On Saturday at Coast Guard, Bauer turned in a season-best 21.82 in the 50 to go with a 1:44.94 in the 200. He also won the 100 in a time of 47.88 and was part of the 400-yard freestyle relay that secured the 151-147 victory with a season-best time of 3:09.91. Bauer is currently undefeated this season in dual meet 50-yard freestyles.
