Andrew Bauer of Cumberland, R.I., Captures NEWMAC Men's Swimmer of the Week Accolades

Senior Andrew Bauer has been tabbed as the NEWMAC Men's Swimmer of the Week.

Bauer captured four individual events, was part of a pair of winning relays and a runner up foursome as the Engineers competed twice in less than 24 hours. On Friday he clocked a 22.58 in the 50 free while anchoring the 200 medley and free relays in a sweep of Babson and Brandeis. He followed up by sweeping the freestyle sprints, including bettering his time from the previous night in the 50 free with a 21.95. He needed 47.83 and 1:44.25 to claim the 100 and 200 free. The 200 free relay team also improved on its time despite finishing second in a time of 1:27.68.

WPI heads to Southern Connecticut Friday night and Coast Guard Saturday afternoon.
