Ama Biney of Worcester, Massachusetts, Pockets NEWMAC Women's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week Laurels (Jan. 7)

WPI senior Ama Biney has been tabbed as the NEWMAC Women's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending January 7. Last week's (Dec. 31) defensive honoree swept the awards in the same week at the end of November.

Biney averaged 15 points and 6.5 rebounds with seven steals and four assists as the Engineers began their NEWMAC slate 2-0. The senior narrowly missed a double-double Wednesday with 12 points and nine rebounds versus Springfield before leading the way with 18 points and five steals, as well as four assists at Wheaton on Saturday afternoon.
