Ama Biney of Worcester, Mass., Biney Bags Third NEWMAC Women's Basketball Defensive Weekly Honor

WPI junior Ama Biney has collected another NEWMAC Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week nod. Overall, it is Biney's third selection for her defensive effort and fifth overall this season.

Biney once again paced the Engineers in a 2-0 week, this time by narrowly averaging a double-double of 11.5 points and eight rebounds. She had a week-high of 13 points versus Springfield and posted a double-double of 10 points and 10 boards at Emerson. Biney also doled out four assists each game and, bolstered by seven steals against the Lions, averaged 4.5 for the week.

Women's Basketball (16-2, 8-1 NEWMAC), who enters the week tied for second in the conference, hosts Clark Saturday at 2pm.
